Need someone to go the cinema with? Sitting alone at home on a Saturday night? or just want a coffee and chat?

Stroud is a great little town with some of the best shops and pubs, restaurants and entertainment in the county, but how can you enjoy it when you don’t have anyone to go with?

This is where the friendship club for over 45 singles helps. It’s all about meeting new people, making friends and belonging.

The club meets every Tuesday, from 7pm, at The Market Tavern, on the corner of Union Street and Cornhill, the atmosphere informal and friendly. Often we have someone along to entertain us and give the evening a 'focus', some evenings we just chat. We arange activities most weekend, anything from a gentle stroll, skittles, meals, theatre, party nights, through to london trips and horse riding. You are welcome to suggest things you would like to do and get the group involved, and there is no pressure to attend anything you don't want to - pick and choose to suit yourself.

Worried about coming alone to an established group? The first Tuesday of each month is our new members night; though you are of course welcome to start any Tuesday you like!
